Miscellaneous log of my journey north. I make no promises.
Sweeping, Tracker, and Thoroughbred are poems that were written during the transitory 4 days after I had finished moving from my house of 8 years into my art studio, while simultaneously finishing prepping Becca the van for the journey north.
I was fortunate to have been able to stay at my friends’ gorgeous house during this time and we had a lovely going away party there as well.

Talking to a friend yesterday about having been in a single place for a long time (Santa Cruz, 15 years), one ends up in ruts. It was nice to have a fresh fancy salad at a new place outside among the tree canopies and great conversation.

This morning I slept in and it is my first morning in Talent, OR - my first stop. My friends, Denise and David, here have a lovely [very level] spot with large garden and flowers everywhere. It’s warm.
Man playing cello in park. It would have been more interesting if he was not playing classical music on his speaker and instead played to the sound of the rushing water - Bear Creek?
Bear Creek Greenway… David says… AKA Bear Creek Burnway…. Big arson resulting in the burning of 4 towns ran down the creek….
I did…
Lithia Park… named so because there is Lithium in the water. That is my guess anyways… Glad I brought my bike.
Yard sale….

I got lots of lawn and porch time today. :)

HamnCheeseCroissant. On z road. Sequential Biofuels Station #1… Loving the OR culinary abundance… cheffy friends and vendors!
Now in Nehalem, OR!
Rolled out of Becca the van directly onto a perfect patch of lawn and napped to the opera echoeing off of the mountains from the neighbors house until everyone arrived home.

I finally thought to ask my bikes’ name. She said it was Lily.
Northfork road and highway 53 are really nice…
Pretty Yellow and Invasive
I call these the torso plants. Guess why.
A very big boat in a river I did not think to be so deep.

It is vast here, large birds as tiny specks to a backdrop of green mountain. A sight never seen in my recent home town. Makes me realize how small that town really was.
Sand painting
Christmas for myself in May 💜

Ok conifers and pines, gray, wind, and general rain forest landscape. I feel like I haven't left Santa Cruz. I need shimmering trees and shining sun… I’M OUTSKIS!!!
A+V , Hasta la pasta lovies! I think we picked 300 flowers.
Pee break before crossing the concrete jungle of Portland. Also this “fuzzy water” as my friend would call it is 💣
Windy as FUCK as Horse Thief lake. But sunny and warm.
Found a birm to hide behind … and its in the sun!
Remnants of the Oregon Trail. They crossed the Columbia River here before it was dammed deep. ;)
Exotic animals for your leisurely viewing and purchase here
A giraffe grazes in the foreground of Mt. Hood. I wonder if this ranch wants a Workaway next year?
The most content llama I have ever seen.
Lawn Time Zebra. We share much in common.
Canadian Geese found some out of wind shelter
Does this petroglyph evoke thoughts of a long lost wise people or someone having a really good time arting rocks? You are right, why can't it be both!
Flying fish or owl?
Apparently some dude removed these from the gorge cliff faces before this area was flooded by a dam and they stayed stored for 30 years in some facilities area until they came out to play and then they were vandalized and now they have a gate.
All jokes aside, they are beautiful and I did leave thanks.
First time the bike is on her swing away rack and covered. She gets transported inside.
I realized today that van decor is nice and makes things more homey. In truth, this sheet initially came up because i was leaving deodorant armpit marks on the back of my seat from reaching into the closet.
I love when the moon is out during the day.
Becca makes buckwheat.
First time cooking grain in the van!
